About Us

I am Mike Smit, also known as 'The Lifesmith'.

I am a Speaker, Entrepeneur, Coach, Financial Planner, Hypnotherapist and the founder of My Life Plan. 

I have spent the last 16 years managing and coaching people. In that time, I’ve learnt a lot, mostly the hard way, about how to get the most out of people and how to help them be successful at what they do. 

This is what I have learned:

Whilst doing financial planning for people and later managing and developing other financial advisors and clients, I found that a lot of them were not really happy. I also found that they rarely had clearly defined financial or other goals. They told me they know what they want and their goals are in their head - but it was not written down. Most people's goals were also quite easy to achieve, thereby not inspiring. I have also learned that if you don't have a plan, you will be part of someone else's plan.

I have met too many people that live reactive lives - that  live a life of circumstance and ignorance and I wondered about the regret that they will have at the end of their life. This is because they don’t dream bigger dreams and pursue meaningful goals or they don’t know how to plan effectively to achieve their dreams. They are completely oblivious to the fact that they can design their life! 

My Vision

I want to make a difference in the world. So I developed a system that can help people do just that - live a life with purpose filled with something meaningful and exciting to look forward to.

I have a vision and a passion to touch people with my message of hope and direction by helping people to create the highest possible quality of life for themselves and their loved ones in order to make the world a better place. And I invented My Life Plan to help me do just that.
